When did this happen?
Imagine how different life would have been if:
My father didn't donate 3 machines to my primary school to get me in,
and my first form teacher did not hold my hand on the first day of school,
and made me monitress in primary 3,
where recess time was skipping, zeropointing, getting palms all dirty from five stones
and looking for my brother, wiping his tears, signing his chinese spelling book,
calling my mom on the public phone, calling my father too because I didn't know where else to spend the money,
and then buying erasers for my mom in the bookshop
where I thought I was the fastest swimmer, runner, anything, anyone alive in the world
Imagine how different life would have been
if I didn't have to grow up.
